Top 3 Webtoon Thriller & Horror January to Juni 2017

Webtoon is a new way for comic lovers to read digital story through app. The popularity of webtoon almost the same as comic and manga. Nowadays webtoon compete with comics and mangas. Webtoon always updating varieties of stories every day. Webtoon is a product of NAVER Corp which also has LINE apps. Reader who want to read webtoon can choose to read either from mobile app (you can download it in playstore) or through website.

 

 

Now i will explain a little about some webtoons that worth reading in the period of January till June 2017. These recommendations are based on my own opinion and the popularity and the readers’ comments. I only include the webtoon that are currently airing untill now.

Ok now lets go to the webtoon recommendation. Here is the list of webtoons with the genre Thriller and Horror must read.

 

1. Tales of The Unusual

“Tales of The Unusual” is authored by Seongdae Oh. Seongdae Oh is a webtoon artist from South Korea. He is a talented artist in thriller genre. He also the one who write “The Cliff”.




Tales of The Unusual is started in 2013 and still going up to now (2017). Seongdae Oh is so creative, without running out of ideas he continue to write interesting stories.

This webtoon is basically a set of many mini story containing strange story, tale story, mystery story, belief story, ritual story and stange behaviour which have thrilling feel in it. Each mini story usually consists of three to six episodes and regularly updated every week. The story is packet with interesting plot, chilling, thrilling, dark background and make us the reader feel creepy as we read it. And the best part is the cliff hanger as sometimes kind of frustating haha. And also each story has its own moral message that the author want to tell to readers.

This webtoon available in many language and also updating every Wednesday.

if i have to rate, i will give this story 5 from 5.

 

2. Hive

“Hive” is authored by Kyusam Kim from South Korea. Hive has different style than Tales of The Unusual, Hive has more specific story. Hive started in 2014 and still going until now.

hive is a story about giant insects that conquering earth. The story takes place in Seoul, South Korea. Eunseong is the main character of the story, he is an engineer in a company and has a wife and a daughter. The story begins when he was working in his company and then suddenly a group of insects attacking the city. The insects kill humans and destroying all building. Eunseong is one of the survivor of the tragedy, he was unconscious and wake up the next 5 days. When he wake up, the city already conquered by insects. the first thing he can think is his family, then Eunseong starts the journey to find his family.

 

the journey is not easy, he has to avoid the insects and he must kill it if the insects attacked. And there are also group of thugs that make use of the situation to do bad things. But The Journey seems possible because he is not alone. He is accompanied by an old man and a woman (his colleague). The old man is an expert in military so he has an important role in the journey.

if i have to rate, i will give this story 4 from 5.

 

3. S.I.D

 

S.I.D Supernatural Investigation Department is authored by Sa Da Ham.

The story is about a man (grandson of a shaman) gained an supernatural ability to see ghost and also able to communicate with the ghost. At first the ability is sealed by his grandmother to avoid him experiencing supernatural phenomenom, but after a while the ability is reawakening.




He works as a homicide detective. The ability awaken when he investigate a murder case in a house. And suddenly he can see ghost wondering in the incident’s location. With his power, he will experience many supernatural things and he will investigate with his ability.
